Former Zain CEO gets new appointment in Ghana
29 Oct, 2008
Ghana Telecommunications Company has appointed former Zain Zambia CEO David Venn as the company's new CEO to advance its expansion program and bring about new innovation.
Venn left Celtel Zambia soon after the company was rebranded to Zain in August and never gave a reason for his resignation.
He will now take over from Dickson Oduro-Nyaning, who worked for Ghana Telecommunications Company for more than 35 years.
"Venn was seen as an innovative and respected business leader with proven experience in driving growth and implementing business strategy," said Albert Don-Chebe, Ghana Telecommunication Company's head of corporate communications and customers care.
Venn worked for Celtel Zambia for five years and was instrumental in driving the company's network rural expansion program.
In his new position, Venn is expected to face stiff competition from Zain, which plans to launch operations in Ghana by the end of this year.
