Zain to introduce mobile money transfer in Sierra Leone

Mobile operator Zain will soon introduce a mobile money transfer service in Sierra Leone, said Chris Gabriel, Zain CEO for Africa.

The introduction of the service is aimed at meeting Zain's goal of bringing effective programs to the country, Gabriel said, and the company will focus on providing access to the service in rural communities.

"We have invested over US$120 million in Sierra Leone to show that we are committed and would continue to invest in Sierra Leone," he noted.

Zain provided no further details on the money transfer service.
